Why is My Tile Location Not Updating?

If your Tile's location isn't updating as you move closer or further away from it, try some basic troubleshooting. Ensure that the Tile app and phone's software is up to date and that Bluetooth is turned on. You may also want to check your phone's battery saving settings as these can inhibit the Bluetooth connection with your Tile.

To reset your Tile's location, press the locator activation button for 10 seconds. This will reset the Tile's location and hopefully allow it to update again. If this doesn't work, you can contact Tile customer support.

Tile uses a community of users to help find items that are lost. When someone with the Tile app on their device walks within Bluetooth range of your item, they can anonymously report its location to you. This works 100% of the time, and it protects your privacy.

You can manage the scales and extents for which cached tiles are built. To do so, sign in as the owner of the hosted raster tile layer or an administrator. On the item page, scroll to the Tile Layer (hosted) Settings section and choose a level or levels for which you want tiles built. Then, click Draw Extent to draw a box for the area where you want tiles built.

If you've published a vector tile layer with an associated feature layer, you can replace the content of that layer using a second layer. When you click Replace, a summary page shows the current vector tile layer and the replacement layer. If you see a message about incompatible styles, it means that the replacement layer's style differs from the style of the current layer.
