Transcend Drive Pro 520 Review

The Transcend Drive Pro 520 is a full-featured dash cam that aims to cover the entire range of driving needs. Featuring dual cameras, low light usage, infrared, GPS and much more this camera is an all-in-one solution for professional drivers.

The unit itself is housed in a small black plastic body that feels far from cheap but does not quite feel premium either at first glance. The camera features a 2.4" display and Wi-Fi for operation over mobile apps for iOS or Android (which are both included).

There is also an adjustable G-Sensor that can be set to trigger emergency recording when the camera is shaken, or in case of a collision with the vehicle. The sensitivity of the sensor can also be adjusted to prevent false activation.

Lastly there is a built in backup battery to ensure the camera will continue recording even after the car has been turned off. The camera also supports loop recording for continuous video capture, and mandatory dash cam features like date/time/speed stamping are all included too.

One of the more interesting aspects of this dash cam is that it is a twin lens system with one lens facing the front of the vehicle as usual and the other lens can be rotated around to face either the rear of the vehicle for monitoring any passengers or to the side of the car to record a wider field of view. This makes it a perfect option for taxi, Uber or Lyft drivers who want to be able to monitor their passengers as well as the road at all times.
