Toshiba Satellite C55-C5270 Reviews

The Toshiba Satellite C55-C5270 gets the job done. It’s not flashy or glamorous, but it’s a solid machine with plenty of power to accomplish word processing tasks and light multimedia applications. Its relatively long battery life and excellent temperature control also help make it a good choice for traveling.

The laptop is powered by a fourth generation Intel Core i3-4005U processor with 8GB RAM and a 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive. The CPU is able to handle all regular computing activities with ease but when it comes to CPU intensive applications like Adobe Photoshop CC and illustrator, AutoCAD, or Coral Draw the machine will start to lag. Low end games such as wow or TF2 can be played smoothly but with low to medium details and settings.

In the graphics department the notebook is equipped with a standard Intel HD 4400 integrated GPU. This is capable of handling all basic tasks and it can even run some older games with moderate details and settings but with a lot of lag. The display on the Satellite C55-C5270 is a little disappointing though: the maximum brightness of 251 cd/m2 falls behind the competition and the color accuracy isn’t that great: viewed from above, the colors tend to wash out.

The machine is shipped with a quick start guide and the compulsory power supply. In addition, Toshiba installs a Recovery Center for creating backups of the operating system and a trial version of McAfee Internet Security Suite.
