Cyber Monday is an annual worldwide shopping event that takes place on the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in late November. It's a day when many online retailers offer steep discounts on tech products, home goods, clothing and more. Unlike Black Friday, which often sees long lines and chaotic store conditions, most Cyber Monday deals are available online only.
This is a well-equipped Chromebook at an attractive price point. The Core i5 is a step above the typically weaker Celeron CPUs used in most budget Chromebooks, and the 14-inch 1080p display should work fine for general use. The 4GB of RAM is also plenty for most users. The build feels high-end, too, with a metal lid and cool chamfered edges.
The only big caveat is that this Chromebook will not run Windows or Mac software, which can be worked around with a variety of Android apps and web-based tools. More advanced photo and video editing is not a great fit for Chromebooks, but if you can live without those features this is a good deal.
This is the best budget Chromebook we've seen this year, with a solid i5 processor and a huge HD display that should work for most purposes. It's a bit heavy at three pounds, and the battery life could be better, but this is still a great buy for most users. One thing to keep in mind is that Chromebooks have an auto-update expiration date, which means they won't receive security and feature updates after a certain period of time.
