As Apple TV+ series Severance debuts later this year, viewers may recognize some familiar sights. Filming took place mostly in NYC and Bell Labs Holmdel complex in central New Jersey; however scenes were also shot at Kingston, Beacon, and Nyack locations including Mohonk Preserve Damona Gateway which will likely become familiar due to being featured prominently during Mark (Adam Scott) going on a date scene.
Lumon Industries, the fictional company featured in this show, takes workplace toxicity to an entirely new level by isolating employees from both work and personal memories. Accordingly, production team used real urban locations in Kier to create an ominous metropolitan feel in Kier.
Notable landmarks included the historic Brooklyn Bridge and iconic Empire State Building in Manhattan; additionally, shots were also captured at Central Park and Unisphere.
Producers chose scenic country locations for filming to add an air of remoteness and desolation to the story. Many mountain scenes were shot in Brecon Beacons National Park which boasts some of Wales' highest peaks - Pen y Fan is 886 meters and second highest peak in Wales - as well as wildflower meadows, gorges and waterfalls that attract outdoor enthusiasts for hiking or biking excursions.
