The polk striker p1 review is a multi-platform gaming headset for gamers who crave fully immersive audio and crystal clear chat. It’s compatible with PlayStation 4 (with the included PS4 headset adapter), Xbox One, Wii U, PC, mobile phones and tablets. The headset features best-in-class sonic performance, including 40mm drivers with a Dynamic Balance Driver design and Polk Optimized Electronic-Acoustic Tuning, a newly designed flexible, removable and discrete omni-directional microphone with push button mute for console and PC gaming, and a separate in-line mic for mobile use.
As with the prior Polk Gaming headsets we’ve reviewed, the Striker Pro P1 is a stereo headset that doesn’t have support for 7.1 USB surround sound or the ability to jack into your computer’s 3.5mm jacks like other stereo headsets (like Roccat Kave). Instead it comes with three different cable options. The first is a PC cable that includes both the mic and stereo 3.5mm jacks that connects to the headset, the second is a mobile cable that has a separate inline mic and remote, and the third is a cable for connecting to a console controller that plugs into the small, fixed inline controller on the back of the headset.
While hardcore eSports players might want to opt for a dedicated gaming headset that offers system-specific features like the new Polk Xtreme Pro Zx, most gamers will be happy with a versatile pair of headphones that can blast their favorite tunes one minute and keep them in touch during a Destiny raid the next. The Striker Pro P1 delivers on this promise.
