Nextbase 222x Front and Rear Cam Bundle Review

For those wanting a no-fuss dash cam that quietly gets on with its job in the background, the Nextbase 222x is a solid option. It's cheaper than its more expensive counterparts and avoids inflating its price with features like speed camera alerts and lane departure warnings, which many drivers will probably switch off anyway.

Physically the 222x looks similar to Nextbase's 422GW, 622GW and 522GW models. It has a slim, all-black body and a small colour screen at the back, with function buttons that are logically laid out and feel reassuringly solid when pressed.

Its front camera boasts a Full HD resolution of 1080p and a 140-degree wide angle lens, allowing it to capture footage in good definition. The unit also features a new high precision G sensor, which can lock away important files so they aren't overwritten when the microSD card loops over.

The 222x's rear camera offers 720p recording and uses an improved 6G glass lens to ensure you can pick up essential details such as road signs and number plates. Its Intelligent Parking Mode can record movement and impact while your car is parked, which is great for protecting you against tailgaters or rear end impacts.

Like all Nextbase dash cams, the 222x is sold with everything you need to fit it and use it including 3m brand adhesive already attached to the cameras and a SD card (up to 32GB). The unit comes with a free case too.
