My Tile Is Not Working

If your Tile doesn’t ring or show up in the app, it likely means that the device is not activated. To activate a Tile, press and hold the button for one second. A tune will play and the Tile will be ready to pair with your phone. Make sure that your mobile phone has Bluetooth enabled and that the Tile app has permission to use it. You can also update the Tile app – sometimes this resolves activation issues.

The other reason that a Tile may not connect to your phone is that it’s simply out of range. You can test this by going back to the place where you last saw your item, and tapping Find in the Tile app. If the Tile is in close proximity to your item, you should hear it ring and see a green circle on your phone’s map.

If you don’t have a replacement Tile for your missing item, the best option is to patch up the damaged tile area. Ensure that the surface is clean, and then frame it using painter’s tape. Apply epoxy to the chipped area and let it dry for about 30 minutes. Sand the patch until it is flush with the tile surface, and then paint with a water-based paint that matches the rest of your tiles. Once the paint is completely dry, seal with a water-based polyurethane to keep the patch in place and protect it from further damage.
