Keydous NJ80-AP Review

There are a lot of value-focused mechanical keyboards out there, and the keydous nj80-ap is another good one. It's a 75% layout keyboard with a knob, and it feels great out of the box. It also offers a lot of customization options.

This particular model comes with Gateron Pro Milky Yellows and keycaps, but you can also swap in your own switches if you prefer. The switches are pre-lubed and balanced, which results in a fantastic typing experience. Space bars are quiet as well, a major plus for this price range. I've seen much pricier keys with louder space bars, so it's clear that Keydous put a lot of work into this design.

The metal plate is really nice looking, and the keycaps are PBT dye-sublimated with sharp and well-placed legends. It's a shame they don't do RGB justice because the PCB is South-facing, but they look good regardless. There's a little slot under the keys for your 2.4Ghz dongle too, which is a nice touch.

Unlike many pre-built keyboards, the Keydous NJ80-AP is easy to open up and customize. The only annoyance is that they put a warranty sticker over one of the screws under the flip-out feet, but a spudger or even fingernail can get it off.

I'd recommend this board to anyone who's looking for a great-feeling 75% keyboard. It's a bit more expensive than some other budget-oriented models, but the premium feel of the keycaps and switches makes it worth it in my book.
