If you are looking for a powerful gaming laptop with high resolution and fast display, then the hp omen is a good choice. It has the power of up to an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics, upgraded cooling system and the OMEN Gaming Hub to customize your experience. It also features a 16-inch diagonal FHD 60Hz display that can be upgraded to a QHD 165Hz display.
Unlike last year’s model, the new HP Victus is lighter and thinner with an aluminum base that feels more durable. The keyboard is also better than before, with long key travel and clicky feedback. It doesn’t include a NumPad, though, as it was designed to be a more gaming-oriented laptop.
In our stress test, the Victus held up well. The CPU stayed at a decent clock speed throughout the test and kept its wattage below the 45W TDP. The CPU also cooled down quickly, which is a good thing.
Despite the slight improvements, the Victus is still not the best gaming laptop in 2022. It is, however, a solid option for anyone who needs a portable gaming rig that can handle modern games. Its main issue is that its thermal design doesn’t allow it to perform well in hot environments. When it gets hot, the CPU temp can rise up to 100degC, which is unacceptable for a gaming laptop. It’s only recommended for people who can use it in a cool environment or who live in a cold region.
