The P1102W is a classic single-function monochrome laser printer. It's affordable, wireless and responsive. The printer is also relatively quiet and has a good essential paper handling capacity. The printer is well-suited for personal use and small offices with low print volume. However, the high cost of HP 85a (CE285A) toner cartridges makes it uneconomic for higher print volumes.
Easily connect to your wireless network with built-in Wi-Fi and start printing from anywhere in your home or office. Save space with an ultra-compact design that's smaller than many ink jet printers. Print up to 19 pages per minute with speedy, efficient printing. Reduce paper waste with automatic two-sided printing and a 150-sheet tray, plus a 10-sheet priority input slot for letterheads and envelopes. Get simple setup and installation, without a CD, with HP Smart Install.
With a footprint of only 7.7 by 13.7 by 9.4 inches and weighing just over 12 pounds, the P1102w is easy to place on a desktop. It's much lighter than most ink jet printers, making it easier to move around and less likely to monopolize precious desk real estate.
The laser is capable of producing sharp text and solid images. It doesn't quite match the top-tier output of the Editors' Choice Brother HL-5340D, which has better image quality and more features, but it is still more than adequate for most business documents. The one significant shortcoming is the printer's claimed 4.2-cent cost per page, which will quickly add up over a large print run.
