HP Laptop 15t-DY500 Review

With a stylish blue paint job and a snappy keyboard, the hp laptop 15t-dy500 is built to grab attention. But a slippery touchpad and annoying bloatware hold this clamshell-only laptop back.

At $820, this hp laptop 15t-dy500 review isn't cheap, but it's hard to match its solid midrange performance for the price. It can handle all the typical tasks you'd expect from an entry-level laptop—including home and office work and light photo and video editing. However, it's not quite up to heavy duty tasks like video production or music creation.

Like the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series, this HP is powered by an Intel Core i3 processor, 6GB of RAM and a 750GB 5,400 RPM hard drive. In PCMark 8's Home Conventional test, the 15t Touch scores 2,159 points, which puts it close to the Dell Inspiron (15 5000) and a hair behind the Toshiba C55-C.

Unlike most HP laptops, this model's screen features a matte finish that's easy to keep clean. It also reduces blue light to help ease eye strain if you're working later into the night.

The laptop's rounded black edges host an Ethernet, HDMI and two USB ports on the left side, while the right edge holds an SD card slot and an optical drive. The laptop has a 720p HD webcam for video chats. It also has a standard headphone jack and a power jack. HP's ePrint service lets you print from compatible devices over Wi-Fi.
