When you set an alarm on your iPhone, one of the options you can configure is whether or not that alarm has a snooze option. Snooze is an appealing feature for some people as it allows them to get a few extra minutes of rest before they have to start their day. However, snoozing often leads to less satisfying rest and if done frequently can actually keep you from getting the full amount of sleep that your body needs.
To disable an iPhone’s snooze button, open the Clock app and tap on any of your alarms. From here you can edit the settings for each individual alarm including what time it should sound, its schedule and what ringtone to use. On this screen you can also find a toggle for Snooze that you can deactivate to stop the alarm from snoozing after it rings.
The only downside to this is that any alarms already set with a snooze button will still have it enabled even after you disable the toggle for this alarm. To prevent this issue from occurring you can clear up your alarm list by deleting or resetting your alarms.
Another alternative is to download a third-party alarm clock app such as Alarmy from the App Store. This app lets you customize your snooze interval and provides multiple wake-up options such as solving math problems, moving or doing squats. While this approach may take a little longer than using the native Clock app it can offer a lot more flexibility and help you wake up feeling refreshed and ready for your day.
