How to Log Out of Roku

When you're done using your Roku TV or streaming device, you may want to log out of your account so that someone else can use it. Unfortunately, there's no direct way to do this on the TV itself. The optimal solution is to factory reset the device, which will wipe all information on it including your logged account. However, this guide will show you different ways to sign out of your roku device from your account, including the option to unlink your device from your account so that it can be sold or given away without being used with another user's account.

To sign out of your roku account on your TV, first navigate to the Settings menu. This can be accessed by pressing the home button on your Roku remote or by opening the app on your smartphone. From there, select the System option to open a menu with various system settings. Next, select the Advanced system settings option, then choose the factory reset option. This will reset your Roku device to its original factory settings and clear all account information on it.

If you're a Roku Plus member, you can also unlink your device from your account on the Roku website or mobile app. Note that this does not close your account or factory reset the device, so if you're planning to sell it or give it away, you'll still need to do a factory reset from Advanced system settings on the TV or online.

Once you've signed out of your roku account on your Roku device, you can log in with another account and watch content from that provider on the TV. This method will not remove any subscription fees from your account. However, you can deactivate your account on Netflix by selecting "Deactivate this device from my Netflix accounts" on the Roku device settings menu.

If you don't have a Roku remote or are using a smartphone to control your TV, you can use the BoostVision app on your phone to perform these steps. Just make sure your phone is connected to the same network as your Roku device and that it has an internet connection. Then, you can connect your phone to the Roku device using the BoostVision app and mirror your smartphone screen on the TV to control it.
