How to Display FPS in Fallout 4

The latest entry into the Fallout series, developed by Bethesda Softworks (the makers of other big-name titles like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3), offers an incredible amount of content for players to explore and complete. Featuring a mix of first-person shooter and RPG gameplay with a dose of its own post-apoclyptic flavor, Fallout 4 is a huge game that takes a lot of effort to fully experience.

The main hub for all the major features of the game is your wrist-mounted Pip-Boy, which allows you to access your character stats and inventory, follow quests, and listen to holotapes and radio stations to find new missions or get information on the Commonwealth's current situation. The Pip-Boy also has the ability to craft a variety of equipment for your character, including power armor. This suit is incredibly useful in combat and allows you to momentarily slow down time and target enemies with precise accuracy, but it can also drain your battery quickly and cause your computer to crash.

Luckily, there is a way to fix this issue by tweaking the settings of your video card and the game. Using a free program called FRAPS, you can display your FPS in Fallout 4, which should allow you to keep track of your computer's performance and make sure that the game is running smoothly at all times. FRAPS is available for download on the official FRAPS website and can be installed on Windows and macOS. Once you've set up the program, you can launch the game and select which corner of the screen you want to display the FPS counter in-game.
