Close DMs on Discord
To close a dm on discord, navigate to your Direct Messages list and locate the conversation you wish to close. Once you find it, swipe it to the left and tap on the red “Close” button. This will remove the conversation from your list of dms on Discord, but the other user still has access to it unless they choose to close their dm as well.
The other users won’t receive a notification when you close your dm, but they will still be able to view your previous messages if they go to your profile or open up your conversation again. In addition, closing a dm doesn’t delete the conversation or its contents.
Discord is aware of the privacy issue and enables users to customise who can send them a dm on discord from the “Privacy & Safety” settings on their desktop or mobile device. This feature allows you to block dms from added friends, server members, or all users on the platform. To enable this feature, simply head to your “USER SETTINGS” manual and change the toggle on the “Allow direct messages from server members” option to off.
