The nabi Big Tab is a massive Android tablet designed to be a family-friendly multimedia hub. A removable metal frame locks around the edge of the tablet, doubles as a carrying handle and folds into various angles for desktop or reclining table-top use. Kids can play games together on the huge display or do homework, and parents can supervise and monitor their child's use through the nabi software suite.
A quad core Tegra 4 processor powers the Big Tab, which has 16 gigabytes of storage and supports the Google Play app store. It runs Android 4.4 Kit Kat, with integrated parental controls and over 400 kid-focused, parent-approved features through nabi's Blue Morpho operating system. The Big Tab also offers a curated collection of apps that are geared toward children's creative pursuits, and it has a few "Big Canvas" apps to encourage artistic experimentation.
In Nabi Mode, the tablet offers a range of activities for families to enjoy together, including Two Play (classic 2-player board games), Game Room and Showtime, as well as an interactive bedtime story. The tablet also has a chores list, so kids can earn nabi coins for completing household tasks, and parents can remotely peek at their children's emails, photos and chats in the Nabi Security Administration app.
A couple of interesting features are included with the Big Tab, such as a pair of speakers built into the stand that can be oriented upward for stereo sound. There are four nabi ports on the sides of the device, which can be used with Fuhu-specific accessories or other Android-compatible devices, such as a keyboard. The Big Tab also has openings for the power jack and USB port on the bottom of the device, which is an improvement over previous models that didn't have access to these ports while in the stand.
