After a fairly disappointing launch, Halo Infinite fans finally got a look at what is to come for the game's new season. In a ten-minute video posted to the official Halo YouTube channel, players were given an overview of all the different things that are coming with the latest update. This included a new competitive ranking system, the HCS Arlington Major, and a whole lot more.
The most significant change, however, was the rework of how player rankings work. Instead of the traditional Bronze to Onyx rank progression, 343 Industries has opted for something that is more military-style. This involves going through a series of smaller increments that are similar to the tiers in the US Army.
Another big addition to the game came in the form of a new mode called Extermination, which awards players with a special medal for killing enemies and completing the mission. Players can also expect the return of a seasonal event, the Arlington Major, and some other improvements to multiplayer including a scalable reactive water plane in Forge and death cam rotation. The full list of changes can be found on Halo Waypoint.
