God of War Ragnarok - What is a Juicy Nokken?

God of War Ragnarok is stuffed to the brim with collectibles scattered across all of the realms, as well as puzzles, poems, and other Norse mythological treasures that players can dig up. But the game also has a few little tidbits that are meant to make players laugh — one of which involves a mysterious creature called a “Juicy Nokken.”

If you’ve spoken to Sindri, the dwarf blacksmith who’s helped Kratos and Atreus maintain their armor in the previous five years, then you may have heard him explain why his twin brother Brok isn’t with them on this journey. He says that he’s been banned from Alfheim, because the Elves found out that Brok knows about a “Juicy Nokken.” Sindri asks Atreus if he understands what that means, but Kratos shuts him up before he can explain it further.

What is a juicy nokken? It’s a mystery that many players have been trying to figure out. Some believe that it’s a slang term for skinny dipping (because of the water in Alfheim), while others think it’s a reference to a nude dwarf or something else entirely more obscene. But most likely, it’s a joke that the writers of the story wanted to make a few of their viewers giggle. It’s an excellent way to liven up a scene that might otherwise be boring and serious. If the writers had any ulterior motive, then they succeeded with flying colors.
