Clearing Cache and Local Data on Firestick

If you’re an avid firestick user, you’ve probably sideloaded a number of third-party apps and IPTV services to access free streaming content. This can lead to a large cache that affects the performance of the app.

To solve this, it’s important to clear app caches and local data on a regular basis. This will remove temporary files that may be causing the app to run slow or not perform correctly.

Fortunately, this is easy to do with the file explorer app. To get started, launch the search function on your firestick using the virtual keyboard (or your alexa voice remote if you have one).

From here, you can view the size of each installed application as well as its cache and local data. You can then select an app to clear its cache and local data, which will reset it to its default settings. The next time you use the app, it will re-download or create new data from the original source.
