The mfc-j6920dw is a fast, capable all-in-one inkjet printer that offers excellent paper handling, duplex printing and color faxing. It can print tabloid-sized pages (11" x 17") and includes two front paper trays, a rear multipurpose tray and a flatbed scanner. The Brother also supports direct printing from USB flash drives and has a large, intuitive touchscreen display interface. It's a good choice for small or home offices. It prints and scans faster than the Epson EcoTank ET-4700, feels more solidly built, and has much higher page yields for black and color documents at a lower cost-per-print. It also produces better-looking photo prints and can print from SD cards.
The Brother's text quality is excellent for an inkjet, though it's not the sharpest or blackest we've seen. Photos printed on glossy stock are rich and vibrant, although colors tend to be over-saturated. Color gamut is also mediocre, showing the tell-tale zig-zag line in red-to-pink and dark blue areas, while it falls short of the high point in greens.
The mfc-j6920dw has excellent paper handling, with a 550-sheet capacity across the two front trays and a 300-sheet capacity in the rear multipurpose tray. The front trays can be expanded to accommodate larger sheets and the rear tray can be folded down when not in use. The Brother also has a slot for printing directly from memory cards and USB flash drives, and you can use the free Brother iPrint&Scan app for mobile printing and scanning. It's compatible with Brother's e-facility, which lets it automatically place orders for replacement ink and supplies when you run low.
