ASUS PRIME X670-P Review

Expert's Rating

This is one of the more affordable motherboards with the X670 chipset. It's a great option for anyone who wants to upgrade their PC and still doesn't want to spend too much money. Despite a few BIOS issues, this board is pretty solid.

PERFORMANCE

PRIME X670-P WIFI is expertly engineered to extract full performance from AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processors. A robust power design, intuitive cooling and intelligent tuning tools make it the perfect choice for users and DIY builders to maximize productivity.

ROBUST POWER DESIGN

Stable power is essential to extract maximum performance from high core-count CPUs, and the PRIME X670-P WIFI's dual-chipset design is optimized for AMD's high-performance processors. Its robust power design includes a 4 pin+8 pin connector configuration that delivers over 20 amps of power, and the ProCool Connectors utilize proprietary connectors with solid pins to increase current handling capacity.

COMPREHENSIVE COOLING

The X670-P WIFI's premium cooling features include four heat sinks and three fan headers, which support both PWM and DC fans for optimal airflow. The motherboard also provides a dedicated water-cooling header for self-contained systems. The X670-P WIFI also supports AMD's advanced GPU acceleration technologies with the integrated Radeon R7 370.

INTUITIVE TUNING

The X670-P WIFI is equipped with AMD's Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) technology, which uses the BIOS to adjust the CPU voltage and current budget on demand to opportunistically improve performance. It also features ASUS LANGuard, which is hardware-level network protection that combines advanced signal-coupling technology with premium anti-EMI surface-mounted capacitors to reduce interference and enhance throughput.
