A 6500 xt vs 1060
Gaming benchmark results indicate that the GTX 1060 is significantly faster than the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT when it comes to playing games at 1080p resolution using the High preset. The GTX 1060 also offers much better performance when it comes to playing games at 1440p and 4K resolution.
Moreover, the GTX 1060 is more energy-efficient than the AMD Radeon RX 6500 when it comes to power consumption. In terms of performance, the GTX 1060 is able to deliver frame rates that are higher than the AMD Radeon RX 6500 on average in games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 when they are run at the Ultra preset.
Aside from its higher GPU clock speed, the GTX 1060 also features a higher memory bandwidth. It has a memory bus width of 192-bit and uses GDDR5 with a clock frequency of 2000 MHz. The card has a total of 1280 shading units, 256 texture address units and 48 Rasterization Operator Units.
However, the most significant difference between the two cards is the amount of VRAM. The GTX 1060 has a total of 8GB of VRAM compared to the Radeon RX 6500 XT's 4GB. Having more VRAM can improve the overall performance of the graphics card especially when it comes to running games at high resolutions or in 4K. In addition, the GTX 1060 has support for AV1 encoding which is useful for anyone who edits videos.
